ABOUT THE PRINCIPALAMAR DESAI BSC. FILM, TELEVISION & MEDIA STUDIES, CAMBRIDGE CERTIFIED DRAMA MODERATOR
Amar is a Graduate in Film, Television and Media Studies from Curtin University of Technology in Western Australia. After graduating, he spent a few years working on film sets including The Constant Gardener. He then started off Aperture Africa Productions (www.apertureafrica.com), a theatre and event production house based in Nairobi, Kenya. Aperture Africa has over the years built a reputation for staging rib cracking comedies and extravagant award winning musicals including the Jungle Book, Robin Hood and Cinderella.
Amar holds over 15 years of teaching experience in Drama and Performing Arts. He is also a Cambridge certified Moderator for Drama (IGSCE). Over the last few years he and Aperture Africa have won several awards for acting, direction and for various productions staged.
Amar is an avid outdoor enthusiast and loves to travel, explore and be out in nature.
Ages 4-16 years are critical for any child’s development. And drama plays an integral role in developing the much needed soft skills. After much research, Helen O’ Grady’s vision, teaching angle and structure was exactly in line with what we have been looking for. Kenya is very much ready for this amazing platform and we can’t wait to get this on the road.
